How We Calculate

How We Calculate GoTaskAI Scores

GoTaskAI scores are designed to give readers a clear, consistent summary of an AI tool’s overall value. Every score is based on five defined criteria, weighted according to their importance in real-world use.

We combine hands-on testing when product access is available with careful editorial research using current pricing pages, official documentation, product updates, and other primary sources. Every final rating and verdict is reviewed by a human editor before publication.

Our Scoring Criteria

1. Output Quality — 30%

We evaluate the accuracy, relevance, consistency, and professional usefulness of the tool’s results. Depending on the product, this may include writing quality, image or video output, research accuracy, presentation design, code quality, audio naturalness, or task completion.

Because the usefulness of an AI tool ultimately depends on what it produces, output quality receives the highest weight.

2. Value for Money — 20%

We compare the tool’s capabilities with its price, usage limits, credit system, and available alternatives. We also consider whether the free plan provides meaningful value and whether upgrading delivers a practical improvement.

A lower price does not automatically result in a higher score. The rating reflects what users receive for the amount they pay.

3. Reliability and Control — 20%

This category measures consistency, stability, error handling, and the level of control available to the user. We consider whether results can be refined, corrected, exported, or reproduced and whether important limitations are communicated clearly.

Tools that produce impressive results but behave unpredictably may receive a lower score in this category.

4. Ease of Use — 15%

We assess how easy the tool is to understand and use, including onboarding, interface clarity, workflow design, learning curve, and the number of steps required to complete common tasks.

Advanced capabilities can still earn a strong score when the interface makes them accessible without unnecessary complexity.

5. Features and Integrations — 15%

We evaluate the range and usefulness of the tool’s features, supported formats, integrations, collaboration options, and compatibility with existing workflows.

We focus on features that provide practical value rather than rewarding a product simply for having a long feature list.

How the Final Score Is Calculated

Each category receives a score from 1 to 5. We then apply the following formula:

Final Score = (Output Quality × 30%) + (Value for Money × 20%) + (Reliability and Control × 20%) + (Ease of Use × 15%) + (Features and Integrations × 15%)

The result is rounded to one decimal place and displayed as the GoTaskAI Score.

Our rating scale is:

  • 4.5–5.0: Outstanding
  • 4.0–4.4: Very good
  • 3.5–3.9: Good, with some trade-offs
  • 3.0–3.4: Useful for specific users or situations
  • Below 3.0: Significant limitations

The score is not intended to replace the full review. Two tools with the same overall rating may have very different strengths, weaknesses, pricing, or ideal users.

Review Types

Every GoTaskAI tool page identifies the type of review used.

Hands-On Tested

This label means we used the tool directly and completed defined practical tasks. When available, the review includes the plan used, testing date, number of completed tasks, best result, main limitation, and whether human correction was required.

Editorial Review

This label means the evaluation is based primarily on current official documentation, pricing information, product announcements, available demonstrations, and other verifiable primary sources.

We do not present an editorial review as hands-on testing. If we later test the product directly, the review type and supporting details may be updated.

Verification and Updates

The Last Verified date shows when we most recently checked important information such as pricing, plans, features, availability, and product limitations.

AI products change frequently. We update reviews and scores when major pricing changes, new features, discontinued capabilities, or additional testing materially affect our assessment.

A verification date does not necessarily mean that every hands-on test was repeated on that date. Practical testing dates are shown separately when applicable.

Human Editorial Review

AI may assist us with organizing research, outlining content, language support, or translation. However, a human editor reviews the factual claims, sources, testing results, advantages, limitations, and final rating before publication.

GoTaskAI reviews are created to help readers understand who a tool is for, where it performs well, and where its limitations matter—not simply to repeat the company’s marketing claims.

Editorial Independence

GoTaskAI scores cannot be purchased. Sponsorships, partnerships, free product access, or affiliate relationships do not guarantee coverage or influence a tool’s rating.

Some pages may contain affiliate links. If a reader makes a purchase through one of these links, GoTaskAI may earn a commission at no additional cost to the reader. This does not change how we test, evaluate, or score a product.

Editorial Responsibility

This methodology was developed and reviewed by GoTaskAI editorial team.

If you believe that a review contains outdated or inaccurate information, you can contact us and include the relevant page and source. We will review the correction and update the content when appropriate.
